Week Three - The Ripple Effect

 Week One          Week Two

Week Three - The Ripple Effect
Week Three Workbook Download
Hello, beautiful, shining soul!  Welcome to the third week of your Deepening Gratitude journey. This week is all about sending ripples of gratitude out into the world. In a way, we've already been doing that by simply practicing gratitude inwardly. Even a subtle shift in focus can have an influence on the world around us. Choosing to actively express gratitude, however, takes those ripples to another level!

What kind of ripples are you creating?
  • The Ripple Effect is the way in which our words and actions set energies and consequences into motion. The impact of what we choose to say or do continues to move from us to others and beyond, even when it is not immediately visible.

  • The ripples created by gratitude are especially powerful because they travel in two directions - outward and inward!

  • One of the significant ways to improve a sense of well-being is through meaningfully connecting with others. Expressing genuine gratitude is one of the most powerful ways to create or deepen that connection.

  • Never assume others know how you feel about them. You might be amazed by how deeply someone in your life needs to hear a simple 'Thank you' and 'I see you.'
Next Steps: Go to workbook page 34 and read the Week Three introduction. Over the next day or so, listen to the 'Sending Gratitude Outward' meditation and fill out Worksheet 17.
Guided Meditation - Sending Gratitude Outward
Before you start this guided meditation, take a few moments to turn to your workbook and fill out the 'Before' section of Worksheet 17. You will need about ten minutes to listen to the audio and some time afterward for any reflections based on the experience. Remember to put away the distractions, give yourself plenty of time, and breathe!

Next Steps: There is no hurry to move on to the next step. Take some time for yourself and when you are ready, go to the Gratitude Constellation exercise on page 40 of your workbook. If this meditation resonated with you, feel free to revisit it as often as you would like.
Going Deeper
Take some time to watch these 'Going Deeper' videos with an open mind and an open heart. There are powerful messages buried in these seemingly simple talks! As the week continues, look for ways you can see these messages playing out either in your actions or the actions of others around you.
Dr. Ryan Duffy on the Receiving End of Gratitude
Dr. Ryan Duffy tells a story of gratitude that tugs on heart strings and resonates with everyone. Dr. Duffy not only touches on the power of gratitude for the person expressing it, but also for the receiver. He challenges us to thoughtfully and deliberately offer our thanks not only to those who inspire gratitude easily, but also to those who may be in the greatest need of that particular kindness.
Next Steps: There are many important angles to consider in this talk. Take some time to turn these ideas over in your mind and look for how they do, our could, play out in your life. When you are ready, turn to the Mid-Week Challenge on page 44 of your workbook.
Mid-Week Pick-Me-Up

ODE TO THANKS (Excerpt)
by Pablo Neruda
UNTITLED
by Hafiz
Thanks to the word that says thanks!
Thanks to thanks,
word
that melts
iron and snow!

The world is a threatening place
until
thanks
makes the rounds
from one pair of lips to another,
soft as a bright
feather
and sweet as a petal of sugar,
filling the mouth with its sound
or else a mumbled
whisper.
Life becomes human again:
it’s no longer an open window.
A bit of brightness
strikes into the forest,
and we can sing again beneath the leaves.
Follow my tracks in the sand that lead beyond thought and space,
For I can see deep down that you are really a golden bird that needs to dance,
With your spirit enraptured and ascending on the currents of Light –
Join me with your hands, wings, hoofs, or fins, in my sublime applause.
Join me in the pure atmosphere of gratitude for life!
