REST & RENEWAL
REST & RENEWAL
December 20, 2022 4:30-6:00 PM EST (via Zoom)
$25.00 (non-refundable)
$25.00 (non-refundable)
This year, we gather together over the hours of sunset on the night before the solstice, marking the longest night of the year and the moment of our return to the light. While the precise moment of the solstice is at 4:47 PM EST on Wednesday the 21st, it is the larger cycle of darkness and light that we gather to observe and celebrate on this night.
This event is designed to usher in the deep inward retreat and restoration that accompanies the season. We learn about the astronomical significance of the solstice, different cultural traditions across the world, and, most importantly we participate in mindful practices of stillness and reflection.
Through a combination of poetry, music, contemplation, ritual, symbolism, and fellowship, we enter into this natural period of retreat and darkness with full, open hearts.
