WINTER SOLSTICE: THE RITUAL OF RETREAT,

This year, we gather together over the hours of sunset on the night before the solstice, marking the longest night of the year and the moment of our return to the light. While the precise moment of the solstice is at 5:02 AM EST, it is the larger cycle of darkness and light that we gather to observe and celebrate on this night.  

This event is designed to usher in the deep inward retreat and restoration that accompanies the season. We learn about the astronomical significance of the solstice, different cultural traditions across the world, and, most importantly we participate in mindful practices of stillness and reflection.

Through a combination of poetry, music, contemplation, ritual, symbolism, and fellowship, we enter into this natural period of retreat and darkness with full, open hearts. 
How It Works
24 Hours prior to the start of our gathering, you will receive an email containing the link to join our Zoom room as well as a link with which you can download a brief booklet that accompanies this program.

On the day of our gathering, if possible, try to create a time and space that will be distraction and interruption free. Think of this as a sacred time for turning inward and connecting with the natural cycle unfolding around you.

You may also want to have a journal handy so that you can record any reflections or insights from our time together.
